Tukai began with a simple belief - Indian craftsmanship deserves to take centre stage. We set out to create bags that feel as luxurious as they look: consciously handmade, deeply functional, and designed to be lived with, not simply admired.
Each Tukai piece brings together genuine leather and handwoven Indian textiles, thoughtfully developed into seasonal capsules that celebrate texture, heritage, and iconic design.
Rooted in a third-generation legacy in the leather industry, founder Radhika brings a decade’s worth of expertise in crafting leather goods for global markets. With Tukai, she envisioned a brand for the modern Indian woman, aspirational yet understated, contemporary yet deeply connected to its roots
Leather
At Tukai, we work exclusively with ethically sourced Top Grain leather from Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tanneries, ensuring responsible practices without compromising on quality or craftsmanship.
Leather, to us, is a material best appreciated in its truest form: natural, character-rich, and beautifully imperfect. Its unique textures, markings, and variations are what make every Tukai piece distinct.
With a conscious approach to design, we also follow a zero-waste philosophy wherever possible. Off-cuts from our premium leathers are thoughtfully repurposed into components and small leather goods, ensuring every material is valued and nothing goes to waste.
TEXTILE
A balance of Indian craft and contemporary design, rooted locally, designed globally. India’s rich handloom heritage is something we’ve always wanted to tap into. With every seasonal capsule, Tukai reinterprets traditional textiles in a way that feels elevated and globally relevant.
From handcrafted linings and charms to thoughtful pairings of leather and textile, each collection incorporates handloom elements in a subtle way, adding depth, texture, and an unmistakably authentic touch to every piece.
